Hello, I’m Sarah

My yoga journey began almost 25 years ago, with the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) and later training to become a certified yoga teacher with Yoga Haven in London.

My life story is not that unusual perhaps, apart from what yoga has shown, given and taught me…

Discovering Yoga

Over the years of discovery, learning and practice, yoga has always been my rock to stand steady on, creating my foundation and fundamentally nurturing the person I am today.

These ancient teachings are true, effective, relevant and powerful – giving us many additional tools in our “armoury” to support ourselves in today’s life demands.

Uniting our bodies with the essence of yoga; our breath and our movement, allows us to develop awareness, connection, curiosity, playfulness, and ultimately compassion for ourselves and our wider environment. In the words of one of my favourite teachers Donna Farhi:

“Yoga does not remove us from the reality or responsibilities of everyday life but rather places our feet firmly and resolutely in the practical ground of experience. We don’t transcend our lives; we return to the life we left behind in the hopes of something better.”

I’ve always been a little wild

I grew up in the Somerset countryside in Southwest England, often to be found playing and exploring outdoors and little has changed now as I happily live in the beautiful area of West Sussex.

Find me growing herbs and foraging wild plants to create tea blends or add to recipes!  I love what nature has to offer! I’m constantly fascinated and in awe of plants, herbs and flowers, particularly the abundant medicinal and healing properties they offer us.

And then, naturally, Ayurveda followed…

Often called the sister science to yoga – I qualified as an Ayurvedic practitioner under the knowledgeable guidance of Dr Sam Watts of Mind-Body Medical (Chichester). More recently I have trained with Sunita Passi at TriDosha (Nottingham) as an Ayurvedic massage therapist, showing me the profound effects on the mind, body and spirit via our vital energy or Marma points.

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic, multi-faceted system of healing our bodies when they become out of balance. This incredible wholesome approach is being proven repeatedly today from continous in-depth trials, thorough research and awarded funding by our Western science, for its effectiveness, its preventative mechanisms its curative abilties and its empowering offerings.

“Ayurveda remains more relevant today as we need to strengthen both our physical and psychological immunity relative to the new health dangers and stress of the new technology. Nature, Prana and consciousness have profound healing powers.”

As a yogi teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner my purpose is to share heartfelt knowledge, to balance, help heal and empower others, as well as to offer “time out” in a harmonious space for all to re-connect to the true essence of ourselves

I am ever grateful, always exploring, continuously evolving on and off the mat and ultimately human.

love, peace and understanding, Sarah xx
