Treatments

Face Massage with Marma (Vital) points (Mukhabhyanga)

Following a gentle cleanse to the skin, the massage is applied to the face, neck and head -  a remedial therapy where firm pressure lifts facial muscles, leaving a youthful and vibrant glow.   By massaging marma points, the movements increase energy flow, stimulates blood flow, helps collagen production as well as reduce fine lines and tone muscles.. 

Benefits:  Glowing skin, rejuvenated face muscles and smoothed lines, improves vision, clarity of thoughts, relieves tension and worries, especially good for headaches, migraines, stress, and insomnia, Increased overall physical and mental wellbeing (sattva).

Blissful Whole You -full facial & face massage (with Gua Sha Jade Stone/Copper Kansa Wand)

Beginning with a gentle Wild Rose balm cleanse and exfoliation, your skin will then benefit from a revitalising and hydrating neem and sariva face mask. While the mask works its magic your eyes will be refeshed using a delicious Scottish Speedwell eye gel. Followed by a soothing, calming, plumping and toning marma point massage using a copper tipped kansa wand or Gua Sha jade tool with essential, nourishing, vitamin rich oils such as rosehip, jasmine, evening primrose and frankinsense -all clinically indicated to support and boost your skins health and vitality.

Benefits: Glowing plumped skin and enhanced soft dewy complexion, nourished skin using organic oils full of vitamins A and E plus antioxidants, soothing and nourishing the delicate eye area, rejuvenated face muscles and smoothed lines, relaxed and restored in mind and body.

Head/Neck/Arm (Shirobhyanga)

A deeply therapeutic treatment designed to nourish and wash away areas of tensions in the body especially associated with headaches and stiff necks. It involves warm dosha-specific oils blended with herbs to nourish, calm and revitalise the body and mind.  Ancient massage techniques (Marma points) allow the body to surrender, soften and so creating an overall feeling of enhanced equilibrium.

Benefits: Relaxes muscles and reduces stiffness, nourishing the skin, anti aging, improves and rejuvenates the nervous system, improves vision, clarity of thoughts inc brain fog, relieves pain, headaches, migraines, stress, and insomnia, physical and mental wellness (sattva).

How it works: releasing tension stored at specific Marma (vital) points on the head and neck, with firm and gentle rhythm relieves stress. It also nourishes the scalp, promoting healthier hair.

Please note that a small amount of oil is applied to the hair and scalp in order to access and release the Marma points in the skull.

Back/Shoulders Treatment

Another deeply therapeutic treatment to ease tension, relax and soothe muscles of the back, shoulders and neck. Using warm dosha specific oils blended with herbs to calm and revitalise. Ancient massage techniques (Marma points) allow the body to surrender, soften and so creating an overall feeling of enhanced equilibrium.

Benefits: Increases blood flow, elimination of toxins,  soothes tension and stress, relieves muscle and joint pain. Marma point massage also aids energy flow and the nourishing properties of the dosha specific oils provide vital hydration to the skin.

Full Body with Marma Points (Marma Abhyanga)

An ancient therapy combining pressure to specific Marma (vital) points all over the body. The massage manipulates healthy flow of energy through the body’s junctions and nadis (pathways and channels), and delivery is personalised according to your needs.

Benefits: Increases the flow of energy (prana) in the body, helping the client to become more peaceful and at ease.  Relieves tension and stress.  The Ayurvedic  medicinal properties in the oil are absorbed into the skin tissues and body layers working and benefiting the whole body system.  Increases blood flow, elimination of toxins and relief of muscle and joint pain. Marma point massage also aids energy flow and the nourishing properties of the dosha specific oils provide vital hydration to the skin.

Lower Leg & Foot Treatment (Padabhyanga)

Combining deeply therapeutic techniques to release energy blockages, improve circulation and restore tired leg and foot muscles.   The body is eased and energised. In addition, the soles of the feet are cleansed and nourished with oils. Ideally as a preventative monthly maintenance therapy against the stresses of the modern world.  

Benefits: Relaxation, vitality, improves blood circulation, lowers blood pressure, encourages better sleep, reducing swelling and edema, especially great after a flight, for general tired feet and legs, and mums to be.

Duration: 45 minutes - £65

Herbal Compress Massage (Pinda Sweda)

Therapeutic Ayurvedic herbal powders are crushed in a traditional pestle and mortar and tied into a muslin cloth which forms the medium for this treatment, known in India as a bolus. After warming, oil is applied to the body using the bolus and an Ayurvedic technique known as pummelling. Extremely nourishing, strengthening and rejuvenating, this treatment is especially great for those seaking a deeper massages as it addresses problems relating to tired joints and sore muscles.  

Good for: improved circulation, lymphatic drainage, creating a moisturising, nourishing and a purifying effect on the whole body, improved joint health, relaxed muscles, enhanced injury recovery and complete relaxation. Many of these beautiful Ayurvedic treatments result in improved sleep, which is a cornerstone to overall health. Pinda Sweda is no exception.

Duration: 60 minutes - £110 / 80 minutes - £150. Includes bolus to take home and reuse.
